ENERGIA and the Gender and Energy Compact Coalition at COP26

In the framework of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), ENERGIA International Network on Gender and Sustainable Energy (ENERGIA), and the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) will co-host two events at the COP26 on November, 9 to catalyze action towards gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Enhancing gender equality and women’s empowerment to accelerate a just, inclusive and climate resilient energy transition
During this side event, we will hear voices from women energy users, producers, distributors, entrepreneurs and leaders in the energy sphere. Championing countries, signatories and supporters of the Gender and Energy Compact will outline action areas that need to be addressed for enhancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
