Join us on 22 September for a virtual event hosted by the Shine Campaign, where a team of women energy access leaders will officially launch a new COVID-19 Recovery Grant.

About this Event

Over the past six months, as we’ve witnessed the devastation of COVID-19 across the globe, the importance of decentralized energy access providers has never been clearer.

Courageous community leaders provide electricity that enables vaccines to be stored, scarce food to be refrigerated, enterprises to continue generating income even under lock-down. It’s no overstatement to say that they make a life-or-death difference.

Now, last-mile energy access providers and their enterprises face existential threats – particularly those based in vulnerable and marginalized communities and those led by women.

The Shine Campaign is responding.

Please register today and join us 22 September for a virtual event where a team of women energy access leaders will officially launch a new COVID-19 Recovery Grant for last-mile, women-led energy access enterprises and initiatives.

You’ll hear from Tufts University‘s Rachel Kyte, ENERGIA’s Sheila Oparaocha, Frontier Markets’ Ajaita Shah, Smiling Through Light‘s Mariama Kamara and the Wallace Global Fund’s Ellen Dorsey.

These leaders will describe the urgent needs that last-mile providers address and the seed funding that Shine has secured and the request for proposals soon to be released.
