The first ever Global LEAP Awards Electric Pressure Cookers Competition officially opened for nominations on 28 January 2020. Nominations will be accepted until 27 March 2020.

The 2020 Global LEAP Awards will recognize high-quality, energy-efficient, and affordable electric pressure cookers that are appropriate for use in underserved markets, including weak-grid areas where grid connections are intermittent and of inconsistent quality, as well as areas where energy comes from off-grid systems such as standalone DC solar home systems and renewable mini- or micro-grids [AC or DC].

The 2020 Global LEAP Awards is implemented through the Efficiency for Access Coalition with support from the U.K. Department for International Development (UK aid)’s Low Energy Inclusive Appliances programme (LEIA) and Modern Energy Cooking Solutions (MECS) programme. It is administered by CLASP.
