Why did you decide to become a Solar Sister entrepreneur?
I decided to be a Solar Sister entrepreneur because I like to work with community, especially women. Also [I wanted] to bring positive changes in my community.
What are your goals for your business?
My aim is to help community and to become a good entrepreneur.
Who helped you in getting the business going and keeping it running? Where do you go for help?
It’s through Victoria [the Solar Sister staff for Halima’s area that provides business training and support] who give me some training. Also I learn from other entrepreneurs in different area.
What were the most difficult issues you had to overcome and what did you do about it?
I can’t control perception of the customers toward price of product, but I control it by telling them about the quality and warranty of product.
What has been the biggest benefit of becoming a Solar Sister entrepreneur?
I learn how to do business, and how to use the profit I get from solar.
What have you learned in your first 6 months as a Solar Sister? What advice would you give to other women looking to start?
I learned that to sell product to the customer through credit is not good. Also I advise women to avoid fear and start doing business!
