Are you empowering women and girls through sustainable energy?
2015 Ashden International Awards open for entries
The Ashden Awards – the world’s leading green energy awards scheme – is seeking entries for its 2015 International Awards. Ashden particularly wants to hear from enterprises or programmes that are providing sustainable energy to women and girls (for example: clean cookstoves, electrification of health centres and clinics, vaccine refrigeration, solar street lighting, transport and general safety), and, ideally, creating employment and income-generating activities for women or involving them in the supply chain. Ashden is also interested in work benefitting refugees and internally displaced women and girls. Entry to the awards is free, with winners to receive awards worth up to £40,000 at a prestigious ceremony in London on 11 June 2015. The winner of the Ashden 2014 Energy for Women and Girls Award was Greenway Grameen in India.
