Women & Biogas in Costa Rica
The Rural Costa Rica website is showcasing a biogas project in the Guatuso Region of the country, initiated and led by the Santa Fe Women's Group. The Group managed to build 16 biodigesters in 2006 and plan to expand their activities to a wider area. More >>

ENERGIA Advisory Group (AG) meeting
This electronic meeting was held on 26 november 2007. Key topics discussed were ENERGIA's 2008 workplan for Asia and Africa and the network policy documents. The AG provided advise on the workplan and was pleased with the revised network policy documents. As a next step, the policy revision documents will undergo a legal revision after which they will be presented to the NFPs.

ENERGIA on Gender Wiki and Wiser Earth
Increasingly ENERGIA is present on websites in the field of gender and development. Below two recent examples:

ENERGIA's training package has been added to the first-ever "wiki" specifically devoted to gender issues which has been developed by the United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women. Organisations around the world can publicise their capacity-building materials, in English and Spanish and soon in French. View >>

This community directory and networking forum connects and maps NGOs and individuals addressing issues like: climate change, poverty, the environment, peace, water, hunger, social justice, conservation, human rights and more. ENERGIA is one of the organisations represented on the website to which both individuals as well as organisations can add content. View >>

Gender and Energy Training of Trainers
22-26 October 2007, Chiang Mai, Thailand
This 5-day regional ToT workshop was organised in collaboration with the UNDP and focused on mainstreaming gender concerns in energy projects. The training course is the first step in the capacity building strategy of ENERGIA in Asia and brought together energy project practitioners and trainers. For the first time ENERGIA succesfully used e-learning as a tool to prepare participants for the workshop by introducing the main concepts in gender and energy to the participants. The e-learning has been positively evaluated and ENERGIA is now considering how e-learning can be used for future activities.
Seed funding Asia
Proposals for seed funding activities between now and June 2007 have been received from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. The contracts are being drafted and the national networking acticities are expected to start in December 2007. A second round of proposals will come out late June 2008 for the period July 2008 to June 2009.
Gender Audits India and Philippines
The contracts with IRADe in India and Approtech Asia for the Philippines for the gender audits have been finalised and the activities have started. IRADe has organised an awareness workshop and Approtech Asia has finalised the desk study phase.
