UN Women South Africa Multi Country Office, in partnership with Department of Energy and the United Nations Industrial development Organisation (UNIDO), has launched a call for women to submit projects focusing on renewable energy technologies and innovations. The project promotes technologies that have a positive impact on women’s lives, especially those technologies that will improve the living conditions of rural and peri-urban women and their households. The awards will provide support to successful nominees allowing them to further develop their products for the purpose of sharing, incubating and scaling up.  The selected women will be invited to participate in the exhibition as well as a policy dialogue “Renewable Energy Technologies: Improving Women’s Lives”, where they will be awarded certificates of recognition during the conference. The event will be held during SAIREC 4-7 October, in Cape Town, South Africa.
