ENERGIA and DFID are hosting a side event with the aim to inform the ministerial and multi-stakeholder dialogues at the HLPF with evidence ans lessons on the interlinkages between Sustainable Development Goal 5 on gender and women’s empowerment and Sustainable Development Goal 7 on energy.

Women in Energy: Fuelling development through women’s empowerment and gender-inclusive energy practices
The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, United Nations Foundations, ENERGIA, Sustainable Energy for All, UN Women, World Bank, the Governments of Kenya and Norway, and Bright Green Renewable Energy Ltd. will convene a panel on the importance of enhancing women’s leadership and diversifying the involvement of women across the energy value chain.

ENERGIA-hosted Breakfast Meeting Gender in SDG 7 – Discussion with stakeholders and researches on closing the knowledge gap
The breakfast meeting will provide an opportunity for an interactive discussion on the latest evidence on gender and energy. Participants can interact one-on-one with the researchers from the ENERGIA Gender and Energy Research Programme, who will each chair a round table discussion.
