Regional Network Coordinators

Regional Network Coordinators (RNCs) will coordinate and facilitate national and (sub-)regional network activities from within the region. RNCs will meet regularly with regional and national focal points and play a strategic role in defining gender and energy priorities for the region.

Soma Dutta - Regional Network Coordinator, Asia

Soma Dutta is ENERGIA's Regional Network Coordinator for Asia since April 2004. Soma is an independent consultant on rural and renewable energy and rural development, with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a post graduate diploma in rural management. Within the energy sector, she has been involved in capacity building and training; project management; monitoring and evaluation of renewable energy technologies and programmes; documentation and gender issues.

She is closely associated with Winrock International India and also with a number of grassroots organisations. Prior to working as a freelance consultant, she worked with TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) as the Area Convenor of the Rural Energy Group. She has been associated with ENERGIA for the last few years, as part of the Planning Group.
