ENERGIA Secretariat

The ENERGIA Secretariat is hosted in the Netherlands by ETC Foundation, an international non-profit-making organisation, working in developing countries. The ENERGIA Secretariat has the overall responsibility for the implementation of the project and the authority to make operational decisions within the approved annual work plan and budget to ensure the efficient and effective running of the ENERGIA network.

The ENERGIA Secretariat is composed of:

• Jaap de Winter:
  Executive Secretary (ES), responsible for overall management, preparation of annual work plans, reporting of financial and technical progress to donors, proposal writing and fundraising, for liaison with the regional desk officers and the national and regional focal points, and for supervising the technical advisers.

• Sheila Oparaocha:
  Deputy Executive Secretary, supporting and assisting the ES.

• Chesha Wettasinha:
  Communications Coordinator, responsible for ENERGIA News and the ENERGIA Resource Centre.

• Odile Beckers:
  Management Assistant, providing secretarial assistance and facilitating project planning and reporting.

• Mathilde Sietzema:
  Financial Administrator, providing support on legal and financial issues.
