Anja Panjwani![]() Anja holds an MA degree in Development Studies from the Third World Centre of the Catholic University of Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Her thesis was based on the results of a field study in Tanzania on the impact of improved stoves on women. After graduating, Anja worked in Tanzania with the Tanzania Traditional Energy Development and Environment Organisation (TaTEDO) for two years where she was involved in the promotion of improved charcoal stoves and ovens in Dar es Salaam and its peri-urban areas. Anja joined the ENERGIA Secretariat in September 2000, as the information officer. After a stay of almost a year in the USA, during which she remained responsible for the ENERGIA website, Anja returned to ETC in the Netherlands. Anja is still responsible for maintaining ENERGIA's website, and further is working for the EASE (Enabling Access to Sustainable Energy) and COMMEND (Community for Energy-Environment Development) programmes.
